Is the best guess of the effort necessary to carry out a given task. There’s always an uncertainty in scrum and by doing small interactions the risk of wrong estimation is reduced. The scrum guide don’t specify a method of doing estimations but is very common to use planning poker.
The ´Product Owner is always interested in reducing the complexity and making trade-offs with the Scrum Developement Team.
